We're excited for our Annual Leadership Awards Reception coming up this Sunday! Join us as we celebrate some of the outstanding leaders at the hearts of our work and help us raise the funds we need to continue our work building electoral power from the grassroots up!

The 2022 Honorees

Our brief program, emceed by former Corazón Award Recipient and current State Senator, Monique Limón, will highlight our work and honor our 2022 Award Recipients:

Corazón Award   Gabby Basua Councilmember Gabby Basua, one of our region's strongest elected champions for housing justice, who recently led the charge to win the strongest tenant protections of any city between the Bay Area and Los Angeles!

Dolores Huerta Civic Leadership Awardees   Casey Mata One of CAUSE Action's grassroots leaders from our Santa Maria Youth Committee   Estela Montaño One of CAUSE Action's grassroots leaders from our Santa Barbara Adult Committee Both our Dolores Huerta Civic Leadership Award recipients exemplify the social justice values that CAUSE Action stands for. Their efforts in building grassroots electoral power across our base communities in Santa Maria and Santa Barbara have helped stop the attempted right-wing recall power grab and helped conduct legislative visits, tenant organization, redistricting, and more!

Music, Food, Drink and Auction Galore

Natalia Alyse, a 2Spirit Vocalist + Songwriter from Oxnard will be serving Soul + Ranchera vibes!	The Team at El Zarape will be back for their fifth year with some of the best Mexican food from the heart of the Santa Barbara's Westside. Wine, beer, juice, and bubbly water provided.

CAUSE Action Fund is a 501(c)4 grassroots nonprofit community group that empowers working families, immigrant communities, and young people in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties to vote and elect candidates that represent us. We are a people-powered organization that believes our elected representatives should stand for quality schools, immigrant rights, workers’ rights, affordable housing, public transportation, clean air and water, and affordable healthcare. CAUSE Action is the partner organization to CAUSE. Because we are a political organization, we rely on individual contributions to support our electoral and political work.
