The Important Work You're Supporting

The Annual Leadership Awards Reception is CAUSE Action Fund's biggest fundraising event of the year! You help us raise our annual operating funds through ticket sales, pre-event sponsorships from individuals and households, elected officials and unions, companies and organizations as well as through a silent auction and donations made at the event. Because we are a political organization, we rely on individual contributions to support our electoral and political work.
Every bit truly helps! 

CAUSE Action Fund is a grassroots nonprofit community group that empowers working families, immigrant communities, and young people in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties to vote and elect candidates that represent us. We are a people-powered organization that believes our elected representatives should stand for quality schools, immigrant rights, workers’ rights, affordable housing, public transportation, clean air and water, and affordable healthcare.

We do this important work throughout the year, long before and long after electoral campaigns come and go. CAUSE Action continues to elect candidates and hold decision makers accountable to our values. We stay rooted in the insight of our grassroots leaders as we fight for economic, environmental and social justice in our region. CAUSE Action is the partner organization to CAUSE. Because CAUSE Action is a 501(c)4 nonprofit, donations are not tax deductible.

Our Santa Barbara Reception will honor our 2023 Dolores Huerta Grassroot Leader Awardees and our Corazón Award Recipient. We’ll bring together a vibrant cross section of the progressive community–supporters, like you, that are at the heart of our work to build electoral power from the grassroots up!

Each year at our Annual Leadership Awards Reception we celebrate bold local leaders like Santa Maria Councilwoman Gloria Soto dedicated to the difficult work of progressive political movement building.
We know that – as a fellow supporter of local grassroots-led electoral work – you’ll be uplifted hearing more about the inspiring path Gloria and other progressive community leaders continue to forge forth in support of our work!

Our 2023 Reception will once again take place at the historic Lobero Theatre's beautiful Courtyard, located behind the historic building and accessible from Anacapa Street. Read more about the Lobero Theatre's storied 150-year history.

City Parking is available next door along the Canon Perdido side. The MTD Transit Center is just a few blocks away.
